Today has been an intresting and busy day had two duties to cover for St John the first oen was a day time recption at St James Palace I arived a bit early but as always was made to feel very welcome had nice quite time and a little look around before we had some lunch it was really nice sandwiches. After that at about 1630 I went for nice walk throw St James Park and got a train down to Stratford to meet Claire as we was going to be on duty with each other tonight at the Duke of Yourk Theater they had A View From tThe Bridge on there it was an ok play but not really my type and could not really get in to the story line of it as was very slow apart from the very end when it swam to be all rushed. I all a very quite day only had one person to see and that was nothing really they had not felt well for two weeks. It is people like that whihc wind me up if you dont feell well why go out somewere like the theater and then ask to see someone about it why not go see there doctor.

For once I have a hole weekend to my self whihc I must say is very boring and I have nothing to do really. I have just sat around and watched tv, listen to music and played abut on the internet. While I was playing around on the net I found how to get games on facebook which I have been playing all day I love the bowling game it just like A Wii but without all the hard work LOL. Had two shoping drop today now that cool shoping brought to you. The best of it is that for the first time ever of have an asda home shoping drop they had every item and had to make no replacements which was a bit of a shock and found my self asking the poor man if he was sure about that. I have nothing really planed yet for Sunday might just go out somewere depending on how I feel not sure where yet or what for but thats the joys of life live each day as it comes and you can not go wrong what happens is ment to happen and no matter what you do to stop it if it is ment to be it will happen.

It is Friday I have been on duty today at St James Palace in London had a really good tiem and got a tour of some parts of the Palace it was really intresting and eductional as allways the food at the Royal Palaces was very nice and a selction very diffrent to what I am used to at Buckingham Palace but very nice still. We was made to feel very at home and able to relax and enjoy our selfs. We did not have any calls to deal with which is allways good thing at these places, On the way home on the train it had started snowing again it is sadly not seting this time allow as I had black on it locked like I was a reverse dalmatian black coat with white dots which made me laugh.

Tonight I did another Responder shift with Claire The kit was droped with me at around 1830 ready for our 2000 shift start on checking the kit I saw that some of it would need to be replaced when we go on call and thoguht to my self those poor people in contral would love me booking on and straight away having to go off the run to go to the ambulnace station to get kit. So at 2000 Claire picks me up and I phone up to book on as allways you can never get throught on the north east sector number on the phone so have to phone central desk and ask them to put me throw which allways confuse them. For those of you who do not know at the London Ambulance operations centr they have one area that takes the incomeing 999 calls and deals with other calls such as Doctor ugrent calls and then there are other desks that dispatch call to units these are made up of sectors and there are a few for special resources such as HEMS and the FRU's. So when I get through to the righ person I tell him the good news that I am booking on and thell him the bad news that we need to go get some kit. So we arive at the Ambulance station to pick up the kit and try find the bell to get in which may sound easy as we standing at the door but there is a sing saying please ring the bell and a arrrow pointing the wrong way. Once find the bell we go in and change the kit and meet a fre of the crews on tongith in our area then back out on the road for us. We went and sat on standby at Tesco you would be shocked at some of the stuff you see in a night at Tesco car park it is very strange 2330 comes so we sign of and go home with out any calls all night.

So the snow is hear and Londons ground as turned white and cold. It is so nice to have some proper snow at long last like we had when I was a little boy yes there was a time alow I am a big kid at hart. I was laying in bed sunday night listening to the radio none the wiser it was snowing outside let alone seting as had been ill all week. Up untill someone said that it snowing hard where they was still thinking nothing of this as it often snow and stops and they was in kent so that says it all it would snow more down there. So off to sleep I go waking about 0630 and on the radio they was saying that there was major transport disruption due to bad weather will trains not running this to me still ment nothing just said small bit of bad weather and we come to a stop in London. Was drifting in and out of sleep and someone says that there is no buses now I thinking strange normaly we are able to keep buses running I made some coment to myself about stoping buses on grounds of saftey what next will every time it rains or gets cold will they stop them. Now I was ment to be on duty on Monday night at Buckingham Palace allow I had said I could not do it to someone as was still not feeling 100% at around 10am I get woke up by my phone it is Dan from St John Ambulance operations office Andrew are you still going to be able to get to Palace with this weather to which I said I had already said to someone by email I would not be able due to being unwell but if I would have been doing it why would the weather stop me getting there Dan says becuase of the snow and no buses. It is only at this point that I look out of the window and see the snow and how much of it has fallen I said to him if he really could not find anyone else I would try get there but he never came back to me as the called the function off.
I am still not sure how if we know this snow was comeing why nothing had been done to grit the roads but that did not bother me so out come my snow boots I had when went skiing with school and college I know there was a reason I kept them LOL. I was just thinking hope they still fit and they did so off out I go to the shop tto get some milk, bread and stuff to cook for dinner on arival at the shop they had no bread and only a few bottel of mil left and this is about 1030 in the moring with only what was left from the weekend on sale and no fresh delivery comeing anytime soon. So snaped up what I could as did not know how long the weather would last allow we have good stock of emergany supplies at home like soap and bottle water and stuff just in case. back home I go to just have quite day doing nothing even my St John meeting was called off.
Tuesday moring I phoned up St John office to see if I could be of help anywere today as bad weather was still hear and still major problems with the trains and buses was told they would call me if they needed me so just waited around at home I had a responder meeting in the evening but again called of due to bad weather. I had no calls from St John so a quite day again.

Getting home after was a nightmare had to wait ages for the bus and then it was packed when I got to Whitechapel again had to wait for a train in the end gave up and got bus to Stratford and then came home via Romford it took half an hour longer at least then normal. I am just so tied I really do need to go to bed

Tuesday Day time
Been doing my shift today at Moorfields on the information desk the journey up there went very well no problems on arrival at the hospital I went and got my breakfast and then went got my Starbucks from the local outlet down the road went back to the hospital. When working on the desk you do get asked some really funny and silly questions and there are some people who are just so rude and can not wait there turn an example would be this lady who came in with her family why I was trying to help this other family and the lady who came in just pushed them out of the way and then started demanding I held her and tell her everything she needed to know when I was not sure of something she started having ago and saying what a wast of time I was if I did not know every thing without looking in the book. On the other hand the are some people who are just so nice and friendly like the old man I helped to get down to ultrasound as he had just been dumped in reception and there was no porters free to help and he was late. The man was so thank fall and kept saying sorry for being a pain which in no way was he I was more then happy to help him that’s what I am there for after all. One other case that comes to mind is the young child and his family that we helped they came and made a donation after they were treated and the child was so nice and polite and I feel sorry for him because that as there are a few bad young people out there they all get a bad name which is wrong. Sunday Evening
Just got in from the race night it was a really good laugh and it did me good to get it again I am feeling almost 100% better the fresh air did me well. I was doing really well at first and kept winning the races and making lots of that money but by the end of the night I was losing. I think it is a really good game you each get a set amount of fake money and then you place your bets and then watch the race to see who wins only problem is I think you could only play it once or twice as you would begin to know the winners and that would take away the fun of it all. I did not mind losing after all it was just for a laugh and it’s the taking part that counts. If any one knows of any other interactive games like this one then please do let me know

Still fell bad still but swollen but that’s to be expected I gess did not get much sleep as had to get up at 9am to phone doctors to get urgent appointment to get tablets they gave me changed and to get replacements for what I used last night. After phoning the doctor I had to go back to Queens hospital in Romford to pick some medication that they did not give me when I left earlier this morning as they did not have it in A&E after that I had to go up to Moorfields to pick up some special Eye drops I have that I can only get from them because of the type I have to have. Got back from there went to doctors got new tablets and replacements for the ones I used I have to take 15 of one tablet 4 of another and 2 of another all at the same time 2 times a day for the next 5 days plus my two asthma pumps and eye drops my bag is like a mobile chemist at the moment still don’t feel to good and feel very sleepy and week so will go of to bed now Thursday, March 22

Really not having good week had to go to the doctors again as had lump come up on eye and really bad pain. I don’t normal go to the doctors hardy at all bus this weeks been bad they gave me tablets I took one and did not feel to well bus had to go to Moorfields to meets someone who when I got there did not turn up. I took another one of the tablets on the way home and by the time I had got home all my face had swollen and I had to take my reaction tablets they had no reaction so had to use my Epipen and call an ambulance got took to hospital. It really scary but in a way funny because I had the same ambulance crew from last time this happened last month and when got to hospital I went in the same departments reuses and then majors and both times was in the same bed as last time. Just been to the blood centre to donate blood platelets it takes me bout and hour and 20 ever time I go once a month but it is worth it and help to save people lives the only down side to it is the getting there and back after as it is all the way in Brentwood and it takes bout 1 hour to get there from home and then a taxi ride at the other end to and from the blood centre as no buses go near there. I enjoy it and you get very well looked after during your donation with a sandwich and drink and the nurses are always happy to answer any question you may have. This time I got an award as it was my 10th time donating it was a small
badge thing and a certificate. Which I think is a nice little idea to say thank you from them to you. Saturday, March 10

Tonight I think I have found the problem with my printer but can’t get it to work yet Monday, March 5

Had to go to the Heathway this afternoon to get some bits from the 99p store how I love them places I could spend hours in there and had to take some stuff to boots including a prescription that my brother found. Then I spent hours trying to get my printer to work as it was playing up somehow it lost its network connection I cant sort it our right now errrr. Then tonight I went to my St John Meeting we did wound management it was good fun I like sessions like this were it is hand on and not just listening and reading I am a hands on sort of person. We got a new door entry system at division and a lot of people were getting court out by it as they did not know it had been put in so did not know the code to get in and how to get out after. After that we went over the pub there was only a few of us. That it for Monday from what I can remember. Sunday, March 4

Spent most of morning sorting out my room moving few more bits to there new home I must nearly be finished. I got nothing planed for the rest of the day so should be a nit boring mow not that I cant watch my favourite TV channels any more thanks to those horrid people at Virgin Media ever Since they took over from NTL the service has got worse and worse and now this what ever next NTL were bad enough the only good thing about virgin is the internet works better. Tuesday morning very early start up at 6am to get the bus at 7am oof to Moorfields I go very sleepy and not happy for some reason my MP3 player did not charge when I put it on last night. Got to the hospital had breakfast went round to the children’s centre for my shift on the information and reception desk went really well know most of the answers to the question I was asked. Had a few problems still getting used to the phone system cut a few people off opps. Covered the shop for short time. In the afternoon I was back in the main hospital doing the information desk there that bit harder more to remember more place people wanting to know about and more things I did not know. But apart from that it was a good day all round the only thing that did make me a bit not happy was the silly parking warden who was going to give the nice fish man a parking ticket but he did not in the end.
